About our Weekly Cell Group 

Weekly Cell Group is an important part of our journey with Christ. It gives us a place beyond our Sunday worship where we can come together in a smaller and more personal setting to study God’s Word, pray for one another, share our experiences, and grow together in faith.

The early church gives us a beautiful example of this kind of fellowship. Acts 2:42 (KJV) says, “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:42–47 shows us a community of believers who regularly gathered together, shared life with one another, prayed, worshipped God, and grew together.

Our weekly Cell Groups help us follow this same biblical example. They create a place where friendships are strengthened, burdens can be shared, prayers can be lifted, questions can be discussed, and no one has to walk their journey of faith alone. It is also an opportunity to encourage one another, discover and develop our spiritual gifts, and learn how to apply God’s Word in our everyday lives.

When we faithfully gather together, we do more than attend a meeting—we build a spiritual family.

Together, we grow in the Word, strengthen one another in faith, and become better equipped to share the love of Christ with our families, communities, and the world.

Aug 8 to Aug 14

1 Corinthians 3:1-6 | Summary 

In 1 Corinthians 3:1–6, Paul addresses the spiritual immaturity of the believers in Corinth. Although they had accepted Christ, their jealousy, arguments, and divisions showed that they were still behaving according to worldly ways rather than growing spiritually.

Some believers were saying, “I am of Paul,” while others said, “I am of Apollos.” Paul reminds them that Christian leaders are simply servants of God. They should not become the reason for competition or division within the church.

Paul explains this beautifully in verse 6: “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.” Paul planted the seed by preaching the Gospel, and Apollos helped nurture the believers through teaching, but only God could bring true spiritual growth.

The main message is that our focus must remain on God, not on people. Different people may have different roles in ministry, but every servant is working for the same Lord. Spiritual maturity is shown through unity, humility, love, and dependence on God rather than jealousy, comparison, or division.

Key lesson: We may plant and we may water, but God is the One who gives the growth. 🙏

1 Corinthians 3:7–11 | Summary

In 1 Corinthians 3:7–11, Paul continues teaching that God must receive the glory for all spiritual growth. The person who plants and the person who waters both have important roles, but neither can produce spiritual growth on their own—God gives the increase.

Paul explains that although believers may have different responsibilities, we are all working together for God. He describes the church as “God’s husbandry” and “God’s building.” This teaches us that we belong to God, and He is the One working through His servants to accomplish His purpose.

Paul then describes himself as a “wise masterbuilder.” By God’s grace, he laid the foundation by preaching the Gospel, while others continued building upon it. However, he warns, “Let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.”This means that how we serve God, teach others, live our lives, and contribute to His Kingdom matters.

Most importantly, verse 11 declares:

“For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

The central message is that Jesus Christ must be the foundation of everything we build spiritually. Ministries, churches, relationships, gifts, and Christian service cannot replace Christ. People may plant, water, teach, lead, and serve, but God gives the growth and Jesus remains the foundation.
